Life Center Meals - 2nd Tues. of odd numbered Months
On the second Tuesday of odd-numbered months (January, March, May, July, September, and November), volunteers from Temple Lutheran Church provide food for the dinner at the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County (63rd and Market Streets in Upper Darby). The Life Center of Eastern Delaware County is an emergency shelter for homeless families and individuals in Delaware County. The Center houses 40 individuals at any one time, serves over 160 residents each year, and is operated by the Community Action Agency of Delaware County.
Those wishing to serve at the Life Center must be 16+.
Temple Lutheran Church is one of over 40 area churches, synagogues, and temples participating in providing the evening meal for the shelter program.
We encourage you to donate food and/or your time to make a real difference in the lives of so many. For proper coordination, please sign up to help ahead of time. Sign up online at SignUp Genius. For information on monetary donations towards the program, please email temple@templelutheran.org.
DONATE FOOD
Food items have changed; Check the SignUp Genius for more information.
All food needs to be labeled and brought to the church’s kitchen by 3 pm on the day of the meal. Food can be placed into the Café freezer if delivered earlier than the Sunday before the meal or the refrigerator in the kitchen if brought in that weekend.
Let us know what you can bring by signing up online at SignUp Genius or contact Ingrid Burd.
DONATE TIME
In person serving is an option again, if there is enough people wanting and able to do so. We will be serving about 40 people, as the Life Center is still having COVID restrictions.
