Café Bistraud - n. A place to meet and gather at Temple Lutheran Church.  The Café began as an Outreach Project by the Christian Education teachers in 2006.  It is now run and supported by many members of TLC.  The funds raised by selling delicious pastries, bagels, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate go to support various projects, activities, and fellowship at TLC.  The Café is open every Sunday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.  In addition, the Café Bistraud space is used for various activities at the church throughout the entire week.

It was fun naming our little café.  The word Bistro was researched.  There are no known recorded uses of Bistro before the 1880's. The origin of the French word is difficult to track down.  One guess is that it is from Bistraud, from the Poitou dialect in the historical region of west-central France, meaning  "a little shepherd" (from biste "goat"). And so our Café Bistraud was born !!!

Everyone is welcome to visit the Café - for a cup of coffee, a bit of conversation before Sunday School, a visit with fellow parents during Sunday school, a time to sit and reflect on the day's sermon, ....
